Luxury Mountaintop Retreat

Quiet Summit House is set on a Catskill summit 1,500 feet above sea level in Kerhonkson, NY with views of the Berkshires to the east and the Catskills to the north. More Colorado than New York in feel, Quiet Summit House offers a rare experience of big nature and total serenity just two hours from New York City.

Located in the southern edge of Ulster County, the house is between the historic towns of the Hudson River Valley to the east and trails, waterfalls, artistic retreats and skiing resorts to the north. Situated on 20 acres of terraced hillside connected to the Sundown Wild Forest and the Catskill State Forest, the house is the perfect spot for hiking year-round.

With 3,500 square feet of living space, four baths, two separate master suites, a gym, three outdoor spaces, and acres of grounds, Quiet Summit House offers plenty of privacy and comfort.

Radiant in-floor heating, a Jotul wood stove, and morning sun through the 17-foot high wall of glass keep the Great Room warm in the fall and winter. A mini-split air-conditioner, ceiling fans, and mountain breezes from all four directions keep this mountain-top home cool even during the hottest days of summer. Quiet Summit House features maple floors, Arroyo Craftsmen lights, pine posts and beams, and extensive cedar trim. Local blue stone around the wood stove and Kashmir slate in the kitchen complete the rustic-yet-upscale feel.
